Jamie Storr, NHL Goalie

Jamie Storr

We are very excited to have our Jamie Storr Goalie School held at the Toyota Sports Center. Fittingly, it is the home training facility of the Los Angeles Kings, and was home for Jamie as he played 9 seasons with the Kings from 1994 thru 2003.

Most goalie schools selling point's are by the goalie's that train there and not by the people that run them, when I played for the King's I would go back to Toronto, Canada for the summer and I would use one of the goalie schools facilities to train and the person running the school would ask if it was o.k if he used my name on his website and in his brochure even though he never trained me. Toronto is one of the biggest goalie school market's I have seen and most of the adds in the paper are "NHL goalie train's with me" and it is one of the only reason's that they try to sell on the parents.

My goal is to have a school that is based upon the training and coaching from myself because I have made a life and career from being a goalie and would like to give something back to a position that has given me and my family so much joy. I want parents to be educated on the position and be able to understand that a lot of goalie schools are based upon promises to have your goalies position's on AAA teams and even Jr.A and college. The truth is if your children are good enough goalie's the door's in hockey will be opened regardless of what school he or she goes to.

I feel one of the biggest advantage's for goalie's is to learn from someone that has not only played and made a career in goaltending but is still currently going into his 15 year professional including 10 year's in the NHL. The other thing I like to do is bring in great goalie minds to help out at the goalie schools like David Franco ( run's Franco Canadian Goalie school in Toronto, one of the most successful schools in the GTA, David also train's myself in the summer's before I go to camp for the last 5 years.) for the weekend camp in May and Andy Nowicki(was my goalie coach in LA for 5 year's with the King's and is currently the goalie coach for the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL) for the July week long camp. I feel it helps add to our goalie's learning to have people like David and Andy along with myself for our summer goalie schools.

We are proud to have hired Tommy Tartaglione as one of our head instructors to help directly along side myself in training our goalies in private lessons clinic's and camps that he is available for in the Summer. Tommy is from Bay Harbor in California and finished his minor hockey by playing Midget AAA for the Jr.Kings. We are lucky to have a goalie with his credentials helping out at our camps.

Tommy has played 3 years of Major Jr. in Canada(WHL) and went to the Memorial Cup with the Vancouver Giants. He is finishing his Jr. career playing for the Surrey Eagles in the BCHL.

Andy Nowicki, NHL Goaltending Coach

Andy was goalie coach for the Los Angeles Kings for the last five years and now is working with the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL. He has worked with NHL Goalies like Felix Potvin, Stephane Fiset, Mathieu Garon, Jamie Storr, Roman Cechmanek, Cristobal Huet and with the Rebels in the WHL. He also worked with Cam Ward, who just won the Stanley Cup. We are proud he is taking the time to come out and help for the full week of the July Camp.
